@PeterM: under XP there are two possibilities to reduce colour depth: in the graphics properties, and in the 3D page of the driver settings (3D color depth can be set independently from the desktop color depth). I used the Intel driver' internal OpenGL setting to prevent the desktop from using reduced colours, so I didn't need the XP-provided color settings. Does your driver not have any option page for tweaking 3D? Cannot test under Windows 8 so I don't know if under Windows 8 the driver looks different. Intel drivers under XP usually look nearly the same even with different chipset versions

Hallo,

der Grafikkartenbtreier muss aktualisiert werden (am besten von der Herstellerseite des Grafikkartenherstellers).
