no controller found error

Running Heli-X v4.2 on MAC running v10.8 with DX6i controller. Getting "Controller not found" error. MAC system profiler recognizes DX6i.

Just getting started. Friend lent me USB cable from Phoenix setup. Turns out not compatible. I bought cable from TomsRC, and appear to be up and running.
