Changing Position Pointer colour

I'm not sure if this should be in this forum or the Airports...
The default Position Pointer colouring is fine for normal use. However, when in training, especially when the circle goes "Red" it can be hard to see. How can I change the colour of the position pointer? I'm a computer technical person
so can edit files directly. A "vivid blue" might do the trick for me... 
Because the problem of depth perception is common to all simulators, I use the position pointer to tell me how far I'm away from the edge of the circle.
