Tail drift - optimizing rudder dead band

Post by curmudgeon »

I am using a Spektrum Interlink DX USB controller. I am encountering CCW tail drift at the Heli-X default setting of 0.5% rudder dead band. I increased the rudder dead band to 2%, and the drift went away. I would like to determine how much rudder dead band is enough, but not too much. Meaning, 0.5% dead band is not enough, but 2% may be too much.

Does Heli-X have a numeric or graphical channel monitor feature to see how much the channels drift from center?

You can open the joystick configuration. There you can see the buttons. O have a look at the stick hud.
