Thanks to the authors of Heli-X for writing a portable sim that works on OSX!
My immediate issue is trying to find a usb adapter cable for my controller. I got one online that looked right (fits the mini-jack labelled "TRAINER" on the back of the controller") but when attached to a usb port on the iMac, the AA batteries in the controller heated up dangerously after only 10 minutes or so -- almost too hot to touch!
So it seems like this is the wrong cable, or... When removed, the batteries were fully discharged (they had been fairly new). So I'm guessing that there was a near-short in the adapter cable. I think the controller survived, but it was a scary moment! I'm glad I noticed before the plastic started to melt!
So, does anyone with a Blade 200 SRX and stock RTF controller know where to get the right usb adapter cable so I can train using Heli-X over the winter and be a better pilot come Spring??
