3. In the HELIX-5 folder, I duplicated the file "liblwjgl.jnilib" and renamed the duplicate to "liblwjgl.dylib" - this works fine and also for me! Thank you!Hynek wrote:Hi,
Solution from Michael which worked for me:
Steps:
1. I have installed Java SDK from Oracle site
2. I have deleted the folder HELI-X5 (it is in the user's Library)
3. I did run the HeliX - it did start, but it did not launch the main screen. It did recreate the HELIX-5 folder.
3. In the HELIX-5 folder, I duplicated the file "liblwjgl.jnilib" and renamed the duplicate to "liblwjgl.dylib"
4. Started Helix, now it started properly, as "DEMO" version. Using an "Option" menu, I register myself.
5. After these steps, the Helix now works for me
Thanks Michael for the help.

This solution works for me
Thanks for the hint!

I installed Java RTE 8 from Oracle. After that I installed this; http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572
And now it works fine!)
Re: Heli-X on 10.10
Same here.
Had to install the full Java 8 SDK to just have the app start up. (It starts with a flashing (i.e. on/off) splash screen - never had that before.)
But now, I experience extreme drops in framerate! When I start flying the heli I'm always <50 and mostly stay even below 20! That just doesn't work for me. Any ideas?
Hopefully,

I started over again from scratch. This time it worked. It is important to do the Apple update when all else is done:

Re: Heli-X on 10.10
I have installed Java 8 and deleted the folder Heli-X in the library. The downloaded Demoversion 5.0 cannot be installed.
Meanwhile I have tried all recommendations made in this forum to succeed. But in vain.My problem is,that i cannot create
the heli-x folder in the library.Because the installation of the program fails.

Re: Heli-X on 10.10
Same for me, nothing works. Just keeps on telling me to install Java Runtime Environment.
Also, the apple support DL1572 doesn't open for me.
